After completing this 2-day Power BI Basics training, you will be able to create advanced analyses, build interactive reports, and develop data models in Power BI. This is an ideal course for people who are starting with Power BI.

Importing Data

You will learn how to import data using queries from local and cloud-based sources such as Excel, SharePoint, AFAS, and SQL databases using Power BI.

Sharing data with colleagues
Would you like to share this data with your colleagues in a quick, easy, and safe way? We will help you gain extensive knowledge of the many possibilities of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Online. In this training, you will also learn how to set up a solid Power BI data model with Dim (dimension) and Fact tables. This ensures your report not only looks good but also performs well. Even with millions of rows of data.

DAX formula language
Power BI uses the advanced formula language DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculations. This language is similar to Excel but offers more possibilities and is slightly more complex. Our trainers guide you through the most important basic functions of DAX using practical examples of easy-to-understand examples.

Power Query
With the Power Query Editor, you will learn how to gather data, clean it up, and enrich it. After designing a data model, you can start creating an interactive report. Finally, you will learn how to publish your created reports in Power BI online and how to share them securely with your colleagues

Prerequisites

To get the most out of this Power BI Basics course, you should have an advanced level of Excel knowledge. For example, you should be able to create pivot tables and use (basic) formulas in Excel.
